CERG at the DC Chamber Women in Business Luncheon

March 25, 2026 | Washington, DC

On March 25, 2026, the Community Educational Research Group (CERG) was proudly represented at the DC Chamber’s Women in Business Luncheon by CEO Jeffrey H. Credit, Outreach Coordinator Liz Lashley, and members of our broader leadership community. Held in the Colonnade Room at the Fairmont in Georgetown, the event brought together many of Washington, DC’s most accomplished and forward-thinking professionals for an afternoon centered on connection, leadership, and purpose.

The luncheon is widely recognized as a space where ideas translate into action. With more than 200 attendees expected this year, the room was filled with entrepreneurs, executives, and community leaders committed to strengthening both business and civic life in the District. Through thoughtful discussion and meaningful networking, the event created opportunities not only to exchange ideas but to build lasting partnerships.

CERG’s participation reflects a continued and intentional commitment to supporting and advocating for female leadership across Washington, DC. As an organization rooted in community development and education, we recognize that empowering women in business directly strengthens families, neighborhoods, and the next generation of leaders. Opportunities like this luncheon align closely with CERG’s broader mission: to foster growth not only among our staff, but also among the parents and children we serve every day.

Professional development remains a core value at CERG. Whether through formal training, community partnerships, or exposure to high-impact spaces like the Women in Business Luncheon, we aim to ensure that our team is continually learning, growing, and bringing back new insights to better support our centers. These experiences ultimately extend beyond our staff, influencing the way we engage families and inspire students to envision their own future paths.

A highlight of the afternoon came when CEO Jeffrey H. Credit participated in a live demonstration led by renowned communication expert Linda Clemons. His willingness to step into the spotlight reflected both his enthusiasm for learning and famously ill-timed bathroom breaks. As a karmic reward for his new found celebrity, Jeff was gifted a tea set from the event, which he has been very clear he is excited about!

For Outreach Coordinator Liz Lashley, the luncheon provided valuable opportunities to connect with fellow professionals and explore new avenues for community engagement. Building these relationships is essential to expanding CERG’s reach and continuing to provide meaningful resources and programming to the families we serve.

Events like the DC Chamber Women in Business Luncheon reinforce the importance of collaboration, representation, and continued investment in leadership development. CERG remains committed to showing up in these spaces, supporting the advancement of women in business, and bringing those lessons back into our work—empowering our staff, uplifting our families, and inspiring our students every step of the way.
